Por uma Brasília mais Laica

Um estado laico é aquele que trata a população de forma igual, independente da religião. Esse estado não deve dar preferência a indivíduos de uma ou outra religião. O Brasil é um estado Laico desde 1924; nesse sentido, a exposição Por uma Brasília mais Laica traz uma série de reflexões acerca da realidade da população Brasileira e questiona de forma crítica e irônica a forma de tratamento do Estado em relação às diversas religiões.

Vivemos em uma época onde caminhamos para uma diversidade pluralista; ao mesmo tempo que conquistamos direitos como o casamento homossexual, surgem líderes religiosos que promulgam seus preconceitos justificando-os com passagens incompletas e fora de seus contextos que acabam contribuindo para um pensamento retrógrado em relação as diferenças que necessitamos lidar.

Por uma Brasília mais Laica, não obstante, é extremamente conceitual e insere uma visão pessoal de um artista em relação a toda efervescência religiosa que traz uma discussão polêmica no decorrer das gerações e da história humana. O símbolo, por exemplo, foi usado fortemente na idade média com uma ideia de prefiguração e nossa relação com o mesmo é mudada ao ser revalidada pelo presente com uma nova relação de valores e significados; um forte exemplo é a suástica: usada há três mil anos antes de cristo como ornamento nas moedas da mesopotâmia significando “aquilo que traz sorte”, usada até hoje como símbolo da fortuna pelos povos hindus, sendo chamada de cruz gamada, apareceu em arte dos povos bizantinos e dos primeiros cristãos e foi tirada do seu contexto e inserida como ícone na Alemanha Nazista.

Baseando-se no que foi supracitado, a exposição lida com diversas linguagens como instalação, forma distendida de performance, registros fotográficos de intervenção, colagens, etc., criticando todo o tempo a respeito do uso de simbologias e questionando a forma de lidar com as diversas religiões hoje em relação a religião Cristã, ainda fortemente seguida em nossa sociedade por ter sido estruturante de nossa cultura.

A secular state is that one who treats the population as equal, without depend of any religion. This state doesn't have to give preference to anyone. Brazil is a secular state since 1924; in this way, the exposition Por uma Brasilia mais Laica (which means 'for a Brasilia more secular') bring a number of reflections about the reality of the Brazilian population and make critical and ironic questions about the way of treatment from the state with the big diversity of religions.

We live in a world who walks into a pluralistic diversity; in the same time that we win some rights like the homossexual married, it appears some religious people showing their opinions and justifying it with parts from the bible without any context who ends contributing for a retrograde think about the things that we need to deal.

Por uma Brasília mais Laica, notwithstanding, is very much conceptual and puts a personal vision of an artist about all religious effervescence who brings a polemic discussion in the lasts few generations and human history. The symbol, for example, was strongly used in middle age with an idea of prefiguration and our relation with the same is changed when is revalidated for the present with a new relation of values and means; another strongly example is the swastika: used about three thousand years before Christ as ornament in the Mesopotamia currency meaning "that who bring lucky", used since today as symbol of fortune by the Hindu people, been called of swastika, it appears on byzantine art and with the early Christians and was token by his context and insert as an icon at Nazi Germany.

Based in all of it, the exposition deal with a lot of languages as installation, distended form of performance, photographic records of intervention, collages, etc., critiquing all the time about the use of symbol and making questions about the way of deal with the diversity of the religions that aren't Christian, still strongly followed in our society to have been structuring of our culture.
